Leadership

Leadership is composed of 3 branches: Operations, Administration, and Public Health. The Chief oversees all branches. Each branch is led by a Captain. In addition, Operations is composed of a Training Lieutenant, Internal Events Lieutenant, External Events Lieutenant, and Safety Lieutenant. Administration officers include Supply, Finance, Membership, PR, and Research/Records. Public Health is run by directors for CPR & First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and Harm Reduction.

Akansha Bojjam

The Chief serves as the Designated Organization Representative and oversees all matters of the organization.
They also maintain relations with
the university, ATCEMS, the
Office of the Chief Medical Officer, the LEMS Foundation, and the media.

Operations

Operations Captain

Domineek Govea

The Operations Captain oversees all operational functions of LEMS and provides direct supervision for all Operations Lieutenants, ensuring readiness, safety, and compliance across activities. They are involved with credentialing, training, and event planning.

External Events Lt.

Aditi Aswin

The External Event Lieutenant plans, coordinates, and executes non-UT-affiliated medical standby events within the Austin community, maintaining close contact with community partnerships.

Internal Events Lt.

Jeeyaben Bhakta

The Internal Event Lieutenant plans, coordinates, and executes medical standby events that are UT-affiliated or on-campus, maintaining close contact with community partnerships.

Training Lt.

Teegan Powers

The Training Lieutenant trains EMTs, conducts credentialing, and informs membership of current advisories sent out by the Office of the Medical Director regarding protocols and education. Contact for questions regarding certifications, recertifications, and credentialing. 

Safety Lt.

Neha Shyamsunder

The Safety Lieutenant leads Orientation and support team training. They conduct infection control and HAZ-MAT training based on current advisories sent by the Office of the Medical Director and the CDC, along with monthly QIC/QA.

Supply/Scheduling

Hariharan Gokulakrishnan

The Supply and Scheduling Lieutenant monitors the inventory and status of supplies and equipment, ensuring all materials are safe and ready to use. They are also responsible for scheduling shifts and finding coverage.

Administration

The Administration Captain oversees all administrative functions of the organization, maintains all administrative systems and workflows, sets standards for membership compliance and recordkeeping, and maintains relations with the LEMS Foundation.

The Finance Officer maintains the budget, obtains sponsorships and funding sources, orders supplies and equipment, and allocates funding for organization needs.

The Membership Officer serves as the primary liaison between the Executive Board and General Membership. They coordinate organization events including socials, workshops, guest speakers, conferences, and intercollegiate meets. They provide educational resources and manage shadowing opportunities.

The Public Relations Officer is responsible for recruitment and membership retention. They maintain the organization’s media collection, manage online platforms including the social media and website, and respond to personal inquiries regarding the organization.

PHE Captain

Kishan Sivakumar

The Public Health Education Captain oversees all PHE subcommittees, develops and maintains the EMT-B program through UT and AHA BLS/CPR classes, and is the point of contact regarding all PHE questions.

CPR & First Aid

Marlene Gonzalez

The CPR & First Aid Director designs and updates curriculum taught in First Aid Workshops, acts as a liaison between the organization and the TAKE10 CPR program, and conducts instructor training, workshop coordination, and outreach.

Adway Kulkarni

The Stop the Bleed Director assists the Dell Med-appointed STB coordinator with training instructors, organizing workshops, and conducting outreach. 

Harm Reduction

Abhi Inampudi

The Harm Reduction Director conducts instructor training, coordinates workshops, and outreach related to the Drug Safety workshop. They are the primary liaison with partners such as the Sobering Center and SHIFT.
